Some surprising results have been recorded in clay court events as the top hitters on the WTA tour prepare for the upcoming French Open. Many options exist for betting on the odds of women’s French Open futures.
Iga Swiatek is the three-time defending champion and the French Open favorite. She beat five players in her five French Open finals, including Americans Coco Gauff and Sofia Kenin.
Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka won in Madrid and is looking to make it to her first French Open final. The tennis odds have them as the women’s singles players to beat. Sabalenka has advanced to the finals in five of her last eight Grand Slam tournaments.
American Coco Gauff and talented teen Mirra Andreeva are among the other top contenders.
The French Open will begin on May 25. After the Italian Open wraps up, only smaller warmup tournaments will lead into the French Open. Results from those events should not impact the French Open futures odds.
History In The Making at Roland Garros?
Swiatek In Pursuit of a 4-Peat
Wimbledon. There is no such speculation when it comes to the French Open.
Iga Swiatek is looking to become the first player to win the French Open women’s singles title in four consecutive years since Suzanne Lenglen did so from 1920 to 1923.
The French Open betting favorite is Swiatek, priced at +135 to win the French Open for the fifth time. Only Chris Evert and Steffi Graf have won the women’s singles titles at Roland Garros more often during the Open era.
Swiatek lost in her first two clay-court tournaments. However, she is still the betting favorite regarding the French Open predictions.
Sabalenka Eyeing A Deep Run
Aryna Sabalenka remains comfortably in front in the WTA rankings. The question is whether she can finally break through at the French Open. She is certainly on the radar of those placing French Open bets, especially with sportsbook promotions adding extra value for bettors this season.
Sabalenka has won two singles and one doubles crown at the Australian Open, with a singles title and one in doubles at the US Open. She hasn’t made it past the semifinals in seven appearances in the main draw at Roland Garros.
Sabalenka lost just one set on her way to winning in Madrid. That has resulted in her odds of winning the French Open coming in at +300.
Is Andreeva Ready?
Two years ago, Mirra Andreeva made headlines when she became the third-youngest player to win a main draw match at a WTA 1000 tournament when she beat Leylah Fernandez in Madrid.
Andreeva opened a few eyes when she topped No. 7 Elena Rybakina, No. 2 Iga Swiatek, and No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka to win at Indian Wells in March. Can she make French Open news by winning her first Grand Slam singles title at Roland Garros?
Andreeva, who recently turned 18, reached the 2024 French Open semifinals, and she is looking good to enter this year’s tournament ranked in the top 10.
She is the No. 3 favorite in the French Open odds at +600 to win the title at Roland Garros.
Plenty of Americans To Watch
There are four U.S.-born players in the top 10 in the WTA rankings. Not since Serena Williams won over her sister Venus in the 2002 French Open final has an American woman won the French Open singles title.
Coco Gauff (+700) could have the best chance to end that championship drought. Keep an eye on her tennis odds at the BetUS sportsbook as the French Open approaches.
Madison Keys (+2500), Amanda Anisimova (+4000), Emma Navarro (+5000), and Jessica Pegula (+5000) look to make some noise.
Other Players To Watch
Qinwen Zheng (+2000) has shown the ability to raise her level of play when the lights are the brightest.
After her, there is a logjam at +2500 in the French Open futures odds. Paula Badosa, Madison Keys, Karolina Muchova, and Elina Svitolina join former champion Jelena Ostapenko in the next wave of contenders.
Jasmine Paolini and Belinda Bencic are both priced at +3300 to win the French Open, with Barbora Krejcikova, the last player other than Swiatek, to win the women’s singles championship at Roland Garros, at +6600.
Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam singles champion, recently won her first title since returning to the tour. Despite never advancing past the third round at the French Open, the +5000 odds for Osaka to win her first Grand Slam title since the 2021 Australian Open are sure to generate some action.
