The 2024 Wimbledon women’s singles draw delivered surprises, with none of the top three seeds advancing to the quarterfinals. The tournament ended with No. 31 seed Barbora Krejcikova defeating Jasmine Paolini in three sets to win her second Grand Slam singles title.
The Wimbledon Championship odds aren’t calling for a repeat of that singles final, with Krejcikova sixth at +5000 and Paolini among a group of players with +2000 odds to win Wimbledon. Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, 2022 champion Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, and Mirra Andreeva are the front-runners for the third Grand Slam event in 2025 when looking at the WTA odds.
The last top-seeded player to win the Wimbledon women’s singles title was Ash Barty in 2021, when she lost just two sets. The last time the top two seeds played in the Wimbledon women’s singles final was in 2002 when No. 2 seed Serena Williams beat her sister Venus 7-6, 6-3.
Wimbledon begins on June 30 with the women’s singles champion being crowned on July 12. The grass-court season includes stops in London, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Berlin, Nottingham, Bad Homburg, and Eastbourne, leading into Wimbledon.

Looking at the Wimbledon Women’s Contenders
Sabalenka Is the Betting Favorite
Aryna Sabalenka‘s first quarterfinal appearance at Wimbledon came in doubles in 2019. After winning one main draw singles match in her three trips to Wimbledon, she reached the semifinals in 2021 and 2023. She was set to be the No. 3 seed in the 2024 event before withdrawing as a result of a shoulder injury.
The Wimbledon championship odds have Sabalenka at +275 to win at Wimbledon for the first time, being a top contender in the tennis futures.
She has had a strong start in 2025 with a trip to the Australian Open final, followed by topping three top-10 players to win the Miami Open. She also won in Madrid.
Swiatek Eyeing First Wimbledon Title Run
It has been a bit of a grind for Iga Swiatek. The former World No. 1-ranked player suffered four losses to players outside the top 20 in the WTA rankings to fall out of the top three. That resulted in Swiatek facing Sabalenka in the French Open semifinals rather than meeting in the championship match.
Swiatek shot down rumors that she might step away from the tour during the grass court season that surfaced following her 6-1, 6-1 loss to Coco Gauff in the Madrid semifinals.
Swiatek didn’t play any events between winning at Roland Garros in 2024 and playing at Wimbledon. Perhaps that played a role in her stunning loss to Yulia Putintseva in the Round of 32. She has reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals just once in five appearances. Swiatek is currently at +800 in the Wimbledon championship odds.
Plenty of U.S. Players to Monitor
No American-born player has won the Wimbledon women’s singles title at Wimbledon since Serena Williams captured her seventh and final championship in 2016.
Coco Gauff, who is priced at +600 in the Wimbledon odds, Australian Open champion Madison Keys (+1400), Jessica Pegula (+3000), Emma Navarro (+3000), Danielle Collins (+5000), and Amanda Anisimova (+6000) will lead the American contingent at Wimbledon.
Navarro was the only American player in the 2024 Wimbledon women’s singles quarterfinals. Keys and Pegula both reached the quarterfinals in 2023.
Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam event where Gauff has failed to reach the quarterfinals.
Let’s Check Out the Former Champs
Krejcikova is not the only former champion set to play at Wimbledon.
Elena Rybakina is tied for the second-shortest women’s Wimbledon odds. Marketa Vondrousova, the 2022 Wimbledon winner, comes in at +1200.
Ons Jabeur, a two-time Wimbledon singles finalist, has +5000 to win her first Wimbledon title. Former finalist Karolina Pliskova is well back at +6600 in the tennis odds.
Other Contenders to Watch
Mirra Andreeva and Naomi Osaka are some of the players to keep an eye on.
Andreeva, who turned 18 in late April, defeated Swiatek and Sabalenka to win the Indian Wells title. She also won the title in Dubai.
Although she has never advanced past the fourth round at Wimbledon, the tennis odds have her at +1000 in the odds to win Wimbledon.
Osaka won two Australian Open singles titles and is also a two-time champion at the US Open. She fell in the second round at last year’s Wimbledon in her first appearance at the event since 2019. Osaka’s +3000 Wimbledon odds could be worth a “what the heck” bet.
Emma Raducanu and Karolina Muchova are at +4000 in the odds to win Wimbledon. Qinwen Zheng (+2000) is always a threat to make some noise at the Grand Slams.
Jelena Ostapenko, the 2024 US Open women’s singles champion and a two-time Australian Open finalist, has tempting odds of +6600, while Elina Svitolina is also at +4000 in the Wimbledon championship odds along with Liudmila Samsonova, Paula Badosa (+5000), and Beatriz Haddad Maia (+6000).
